Design & Materials: wire puzzle
Year 8 students have been applying their art, maths and science skills during design technology lessons last year. They have researched the design style ‘De Stijl’ and the artist Mondrian to generate ideas for an electronic steady hand game. They have used measuring and calculation to produce a non-ferrous wire puzzle from a 500mm length of wire.
To give their games, sound they produced simple circuits using a 6volt piezo buzzer and battery clip. They also investigated ergonomics and produced comfortable handles for the games.
Finally, they applied their knowledge of angles to produce three dimensional drawings in isometric for the finished product.
Well done Year 8!
